POM rod, or polyoxymethylene rod, is a high-performance engineering plastic material known for its excellent mechanical strength, wear resistance and chemical resistance. Polyoxymethylene is divided into two types: homopolyoxymethylene (POM-H) and copolymer polyoxymethylene (POM-C):
Homopolyoxymethylene (POM-H): High crystallinity, high mechanical strength, rigidity and heat deformation temperature. Suitable for occasions requiring high strength and wear resistance, such as bearings and gears.
Copolymer polyoxymethylene (POM-C): Low melting point, good thermal stability, and better processability than homopolyoxymethylene. Although the short-term mechanical properties may not be as good as homopolyoxymethylene, the strength decrease ratio of copolymer polyoxymethylene is smaller in long-term use, which is suitable for applications requiring good thermal stability and processability.
